And A Photograph.....



You interpreted the announcement correctly - we are expecting baby #3 on or around October 21st, 2012!  We are 15 weeks pregnant and excited to share with everyone our happy news. 

We told the kiddos two weeks ago and they in turn have shared the news with everyone we come in contact with - strangers at the park, teachers, friends, volunteers at church.  They are both VERY excited.  Vincent likes to tell everyone that he is a "big brother."  He would like to name the baby "Sweetie Pie," if it's a girl and "Johnny Cash," if it's a boy.  Sophia is equally as excited but also very pensive about the whole idea.  Randomly during the day, after a period of silence, she will ask me questions about the baby.  I believe she thinks about it quite a bit.  She has inquired as to why mommy will need to stay in the hospital.  Where will the baby sleep?  She is also full of name suggestions.  "Joanna," or "Eliza Jane" (after one of our favorite kid's songs) for a girl.  "Butch" for a boy (seriously, this girl keeps me laughing - where in the world did she come up with that name!?!?!?).  As you can see from the top picture, she loves to draw pictures of our new family.  The drawing pictured above was made at church and was her first drawing of many with our new family as the subject .  I love that Daddy is huge, Vincent is tiny (always the little brother in her eyes), and the new baby is snuggled in my belly, right under my chin.  Pure sweetness.

Blessedly, we have seen the baby on two different sonograms and all looks well.  I heard the heartbeat three weeks ago and believe that I felt the baby move this week.  I am emerging from the dense fog of exhaustion that is the 1st Trimester.  Thankfully, it has been an uneventful pregnancy.  If we come to your mind in the coming months, please pray for continued healthy growth for the baby, full term pregnancy, and a safe delivery.  Praising God for this sweet gift of life!!!
