A Day in the Life

Sweet Sophia is getting bigger everyday, both in size and personality. Here is an update on the latest in her little life:

Favorite new tricks: Sitting up on her playmat like a queen holding court with all her toys and books. She can now stay in the upright position for minutes on end while being supported by the boppy or all by herself. Sophia is also an excellent bottle holder. Actually, she's pretty obsessed with her bottle. She sings to it, grabs it, and pulls it to her mouth. Sometimes she wants to sit up while she drinks, so we have to hold it. She looks like the calves drinking from the bottle on the farm.

Current frustrations: She just can't get enough things in her mouth! She explores everything with her mouth and becomes frustrated if it's out of her reach. And yes, she is reaching for everything in sight. It makes doing daily tasks with her in our laps a whole new challenge.

Talking: Sophia is talking so much! It actually sounds a lot like singing. It starts out high pitched and will go on as long as she has breath. Music to my ears!
New discoveries: The rainforest bouncy. She will jump in this bouncy for 15-20 minutes, talking and snorting her nose the whole time. The snorting thing is too cute. She wrinkles up her nose and snorts like a rhino. Then she'll wait for us to do it and then she does it again. Kissing! She gives us kisses now. We go in for a smooch and she opens her mouth real wide and plants one right on us! Also, she loves her two canine sisters, Greta and Bella. When she sees them she'll do a few Jane Fonda moves (mostly toe touches or waving arms). But when they get real rowdy, she sits very still, with big eyes and just watches. If she could get one of them in her mouth she would but mommy won't let her.
Eating: Sophia is up to three meals a day. She loves everything but takes awhile to adjust to vegetables. So far, sweet potatoes are her favorite veggie and bananas remain her favorite fruit. I'm making homemade baby food when I can. It's fun and makes me feel like a part of her day while I'm gone.

Sleeping: Sophia sleeps 11-12 hours at night without waking and takes 2 naps during the day. When she wakes up she loves to be held and wants her bottle right away! She sleeps so well but getting to sleep is a real challenge. She fights it, big time. Just ask the nursery workers at church! There's just too many things to do and see.

WOW! She couldn't be any more precious. Those videos are great. I especially liked the sideways camera angle for artistic purposes! Just kidding. Love your blog.
