Women, how glad I am to be part of this sisterhood. For all the things we’ve struggled with, equal rights to vote, suppression in the workplace, cultural inequality, we are granted the right to bear life, to be mothers, to come along side one another in the sisterhood. We are relational to the core, tempted to determine our value by the health of our relationships. We strive, strive, strive to care for others, at times neglecting our own selves. We are loved, loved, loved by God. Hagar in the desert – you are the “God who sees me.” Mary, chosen as a vessel for the Savior, visited by an angel of God in a culture where women were ignored, if not persecuted. Leah, judged much like women today, on her outward beauty, found to not measure up to her beautiful sister, but uniquely blessed by God as a mother in the lineage of Christ. Yes, women.

Enjoyed your post and the Biblical women you chose to highlight. God has given us the gift of motherhood.
I like how you highlighted the changes of women throughout the years as well as the joy, privileges, and responsibilities that we "get" to hold. Thanks so much for your perspective!
