Back to the farm for the Hughes family Christmas - full of traditions, food, and laughter. The Hughes family Christmas traditions include reading the bible story from the book of Luke, singing Christmas carols - my mom at the piano, and finally opening presents one by one in a circle for everyone to see - except for the kiddos who tear into them all at once. And food! The traditional ham and sides for Christmas dinner and then for lunch the next day - homemade tamales served with chili, guacamole, chips, and homemade salsa. Yum! Yum!
This year we enjoyed a little touch football and some long walks down the lane that leads to the main road. All the country air is doing wonders for Vincent. He is sleeping for longer periods at night - only waking one or two times. Sophia is having fun reading books with Mommy and Daddy in bed - something we rarely do at home and even crawls into bed with us in the morning around 5:00 and sleeps with us until Vince wakes up. A fun little treat on our Texas trip. Here are some pictures from the second Christmas celebration of the trip. Not pictured here is the hour long process of packing up the car to head to the next house. We are definitely nomads!
